victory! or surrender!

i think of this as lilyanna's victory in falling asleep.....but teddy calls it her surrender pose......surrender to sleep, i guess. either way she sleeps like this quite often. lilyanna often has cold hands bacause they aren't tucked down in the blanket, but she doesn't seem to mind. she won't keep them tucked under, where it's warm. i warm them during our cuddles, though.

passport

we went to the canadian embassy to apply for lilyanna's citizenship and passport today. we sure hope and pray it all goes through! before our appointment to make sure we had all the necessary paper work and everything filled out correctly, we went to get her quite unfortunate passport photo. check it out! haha! teddy likes it more than i do. i think she's much cuter in person!

one month old!

happy one month birthday lilyanna! she had a needle at the hospital to celebrate. (i think we need to work on our methods of celebration!) she did very well and only cried a bit, but once she was back in the carrier, she fell asleep again.

oct.5th - oct. 25th

after this, i hope to keep adding photos more often! let's see how i go!
lilyanna was sleeping like this one day. then she pooed (her poos are very loud!) and her pose changed to this..... we thought maybe she was embarrassed! i managed to catch her sleeping smile in a photo. she smiles a lot in her sleep and ha begun doing it a bit when she's awake, but we can't make her smile yet.

this was a day or two after my mom arrived. chloe (my yoga teacher) came for a visit in the afternoon.

i am going to get this blog up to date on some photos before i have months to catch up on, instead of just weeks! these are some shots of lilyanna and us at the hospital and on the day we got to go home. just one day old!

1st thanksgiving

happy thanksgiving everyone! thanks to aunty tobi for my pumpkin clothes!

40 weeks and a new baby!!!

.....which is exactly why this photo is quite a bit late! lilyanna noelle chang made her apperance in time to be in the 40th week photo. she was born on septembet 26th (which just so happens to be her maternal grandmother's birthday AND her paternal grandfather's birthday!). she weighed 3.42 kgs (about 7 1/2 lbs) and was 50 cm (about 19.7 in).

it was an amaing experience to have a baby. i will have to write my full birth story another time. i feel so blessed to have had a drug free labor (except for a bit of pitocin), some very wonderful support people, and a healthy, alert baby! welcome to our family lilyanna! we love you so much!
