mercury rising

well.....well....well....

i am sitting in henry (t's brother) and jessica's (henry's wife) bay window, on commonwealth ave, in the heart of downtown boston. i take a break from surfing the web for flight deals to look outside and people are jogging, walking their dogs, pushing their strollers, riding their bikes----in t-shirts! i knew today was going to be warm so i decided a second ago to check the thermometer stuck to the outside of the window. it reads a very hefty 70 degrees! dead on 70! (this is 21 degrees celsius for any of you fellow canucks out there!) is this not january 6th??? just the other day (it was probably about 60 degrees---15 celsius) when t and i were walking through boston common i asked him if a certain tree looked pink to him. he said it looked like cherry blossoms. trying to deny it i said "no way" but thought back to the many cherry blossoms i saw in korea and it looked strangely familiar. of course that was in april of those spring days in korea-----certainly not january! i heard in a news story last night, about the strangely warm temperatures, that cherry blossoms were out in washington d.c.......so i guess they just may have been cherry blossoms. i'm gonna check it out the next time i walk by that tree.......supposing it doesn't frost over and snow in the next day or two like it should this time of year!
