children's museum

in july we discovered the children's museum. it's actually less of a museum and more of a giant indoor playground. lilyanna loved it and we had a great time.

we spent more than a few days in the splash fountains this summer. it was lilyanna's favorite way to cool off.

happy thanksgiving!

not bad for deciding this morning that we would have turkey dinner! on the menu was turkey breast and smoked turkey legs, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and carrots and roasted acorn squash with butter, brown sugar, raisins and pecans. somehow in the crazyness of grocery shopping with a screaming 2 yr old.....i forgot about dessert. thank heavens we mckays love everything pumpkin and i had some in the pantry.....so i made pumpkin cookies! it was all so yummy. i need to make turkey dinner much more often. happy thanksgiving!

these pictures were taken from the beginning of july. lilyanna loves grapes. she would eat her weight in grapes everyday, if we let her! she loves pulling them off the vine. her most excited moment is finding an "itty-bitty" one. she loves the tiny ones!

lilyanna has always loved bath time. one of our favorite things to do in the bath is blow bubbles. here is our bubble head girl!:

it has been a long time since i've updated my blog. my last post was on the day mom passed away. she was my blog's biggest fan and dearly loved my posts and photos of lilyanna. i have wanted to get back at the blog sooner than this but never found the energy. lilyanna is a very busy girl and at the end of the day, i just haven't found the energy. today seems like a fitting day to get back at it, though. today would have been mom's birthday and was lilyanna's birthday. birthdays were important occasions for mom. she always wanted people to feel special on "their" day. she always made sure to make our birthdays (those in my mom's immediate family) special, to ensure we felt special or recognized. that is something i have loved and i want that for lilyanna, as well. we had a fun day and i spoiled lilyanna.......'cause after all, isn't that what birthdays are for?! here are some photos from our day:
