july beach trip and august photos.....

we took a couple trips to the beach in july. lilyanna loved it!

 

 

this is us having a picnic at my favorite spot---western shore. it is so beautiful sitting in the sun and enjoying fish, scallops, clams and chips!

 

 

again, august was busy with wedding planning, but we did manage to take some time out for fun!

a few days after teddy joined us in nova scotia, we took a trip to rothesay to visit the thornes.

 

 

 

 while we were visiting the thornes, we took a day trip to the beautiful st. andrews. we started out with a picnic:

 

 and then went to the aquarium:

 soon after we got back to nova scotia it was wedding weekend! here we are enjoying a bbq and corn boil at amy's. lilyanna had a great time sitting outside watching the birds, eating a ton and getting her first tate of corn on the cob!



july update

here are some photos from july. we didn't take very many, mostly 'cause we didn't do much but shop for wedding stuff. enjoy!

i thought this was going to be the extent of my first 4th of july.....

 but we did end up going to the country club for dinner and.....

 fireworks! it was a fun night and the fireworks were great! thanks mimi and papa!

 mid-july, lilyanna and i went to ottawa to a friend's wedding. it was so nice to see her after so long.

 

 we stayed with a high-school friend, mel. it was also great to see her!

 then came time to go to nova scotia! yea!!! this is lilyanna watching her favorite video during one of our layovers. she is such a great flyer.....and it's a good thing! she has flown a lot in her short life. i was just adding it up and her flights thus far in her life are: a trip to canada and back to korea at christmastime (3 planes each way!); during that trip we took a side trip to milwaukee and back to nova scotia (2 planes each way); a trip to taiwan in may; leaving korea to mississippi end of june (3 planes again!); trip to ottawa mid-july (2 planes each way); trip to nova scotia (again, 3 planes each way!)!!! that's a total of 6 trips and 25 planes! i hope i'm instilling in lilyanna the love of travel and not dread of yet another flight!

she is a very good traveller and is to be commended for no meltdowns on any of those 25 plane rides! a bit of crying on a few----but no meltdowns! thank you, thank you, thank you, my baby!

my friend, janice, was kind enough to take some photos for us before we left korea. they were taken on our last sunday in korea, the 24th, i think.

i just found the rest of our photos from just before we left korea:

some very great friends came from wonju and sokcho to say good bye. i met these wonderful ladies when i first came to korea. they are special friends and i wish we could visit often.

 happy baby being a good girl while the last of the packing happens! note that the pack'n'play is where the couch was. the furniture is disappearing.....

 this man was our favorite restaurant owner in our neighbourhood. he and his wife loved to say hi to lilyanna when we'd walk by. we called him "ninja" because of how he ran his business. i never did know his real name.....

 happy 9 months, lilyanna! she spent this milestone in a hotel, the day before we left korea.

through all the stress of packing and selling/giving away our things, i never thought it'd end. it sure did though. i can't believe it's just over 3 months since we were in korea.
