guitar time with daddy

the other day lilyanna had some fun playing guitar with daddy.

 she even got to touch the guitar!

 then, of course, she wanted to see what it tastes like!

 daddy tried to teach her how to strum.

 then he played her a song with her name in it, so lilyanna sat and listened. so cute!

teddy played the guitar a lot before lilyanna was born and now she loves to listen to him play.

here they are! i can't believe i actually got a photo of them! the first one came through friday and the second one, today. i thought they would be coming in a few days.....but here they are. so far it hasn't affected her sleep. we are lucky there! she certainly is cranky though. to be expected, i guess. lilyanna screams a lot now and loves to feed more often than before! hopefully this is all we have to deal with 'till the next ones make their appearance.

just some photos of lilyanna looking cute. we had just come back home after being out for dinner. i had set her down and she wasn't doing anything special but i always love her in this hat.....and just like her daddy she looks good in black. so i snapped a few photos:

7 months old today!

today lilyanna turned 7 months old. yikes! she is now on her way to one year! she gets more and more talkative everyday. she kept saying "mum-mum" and looking up at me on our way to the river for a walk. it was pretty much the most awesome thing i have ever heard and answered to! her favorite things lately are standing like this:

while we hold her hand(s)......trying to climb over teddy to get to his alarm clock when they are upstairs.......shouting at loud noises or just because we're outside......she likes bouncing while standing........kicking her feet when lying down.......swinging her feet when she's in the carrier......breastfeeding (we still do it about every 2 hours or so---except at night or if she's having a long nap)......chewing everything.....looking other babies.......watching her shows (baby einstein videos).....having people interact with her.....


that's all i can think of right now. i have loved watching her develop these abilities/likes and look forward to seeing her next developments. her bottom left tooth looks like it'll be first to come. maybe next week or so. it is getting closer to the surface all the time. i love you, my 7 month old princess!

a day at the mall

today we decided to go to coex mall for something to do. here are some photos from the day:

we borrowed a stroller, which is a treat for lilyanna (and me too!), since we don't own one. 

we were going to go to the aquarium, but it was a little expensive, so we just looked at the fish near the entrance. (maybe we should have gone in anyway. lilyanna was more interested than i thought she would be!)

next daddy decided to buy lilyanna a teddy bear.

we had dinner at a mexican restaurant. here daddy is giving lilyanna some ice.

this afternoon we had lunch with our dear friend, chloe.  

while chloe and i ate our lunch, lilyanna had a lunch of her own! here she is checking out some carrot:

too bad she doesn't like eating real food like she does her play food. oh well, she has lots of time to get used to food.

this may not be an effective form of discipline for us in the future!

spring!!!

spring is finally here in korea! so we celebrated with a beautiful springy outfit for a busy day out and about. first we had a mom and baby group in the morning. then we met auntie heidi for lunch. after that we came home and saw daddy for a bit. then we were off to see the doctor that delivered lilyanna (i had some questions and needed to make sure my repair is going well---and it is. it's just taking longer than i expected.) then we were off to see auntie julie. it was a busy day!

friends

this is lilyanna's friend, brenna. she's probably lilyanna's first friend. they have played together a few times, but this week brenna has been sick. we hope to see her on friday for a walk. brenna's family lives near us and her mommy happens to be from dartmouth, ns. we are glad to have them back here after living in australia for a few years.

peas!

lilyanna's most recent new food to try was peas. i'm pretty sure she doesn't like them. we've been trying them again and even mixed with bananas. she's not really going for them. maybe after a while we'll try again and see if lilyanna changes her mind.

sunny days and bubbles!

yesterday was our first really warm day of spring. we decided to go down by the river and blow bubbles. i forgot about the wind, so it was hard to get them floating around lilyanna. she just watched them fly by.
the wind would die down a bit and she could try to touch some of them.

then her shoe became more interesting than the bubbles!

after a while it was time for a walk with daddy.

after the river we went for a walk to get some ice cream. one day lilyanna will join us in eating some, instead of just watching! after that, we went grocery shopping, but had to take our hoodies home, 'cause it was too hot outside. YEA!!! i have been waiting so long to be able to go out without a sweater or jacket. i could get used to this really quickly!

reading time

this is lilyanna and daddy reading some stories the other day. we are trying to teach her that books are for reading, not chewing.......but that's a difficult task to teach a 6 month old!

carrots!

so tonight it was time to try carrots. i was very much looking forward to seeing lilyanna's reaction to the taste, as they are one of my favirote vegetables.
