new canadian!

meet one of canada's newest citizens! this photo is from a few weeks ago..........and the next photo is from today! what a great onesie to celebrate in.....and she even wore canada socks too! lilyanna received her passport in the mail yesterday and we didn't even have it for 12 hours before her first trips to visit her families this holiday season were booked. look how happy she is about it all! (mommy is too!) oh.....this smile comes after getting two needles this morning. lilyanna was a trooper. she was even smiling 5 minutes afterwards during a diaper change, while mommy was still blinking away her tears. no mommy should hear the cry her baby makes when getting needles. it's so sad. all is well now. lily (and mommy!) is happy again! (and thinking about our trip!)

so today while i was out, lilyanna had a fussy time. her daddy found some sesame street videos to watch with her and she loved it. here are some photo of them watching.

all of a sudden we have a super hero baby! pretty good attempt at a superman pose for a 7 week old!

thanks to some special friends in mongolia, lilyanna received some beautiful shoes/slippers in the mail today. they are made of wool and are very pretty. here is a photo of lilyanna modeling them.

recently lilyanna has started smiling while awake. she's still learning how to smile when we're coaxing her......mostly it's still when she wants to. here are some of her first smiles...... this is an early smile when she only smiled in her sleep.

monday, monday......

on mondays i tutor a brother and sister in the aftrnoon for an hour. since it's teddy's day off he stays with lilyanna for the time i'm tutoring, plus travel time, which ends up being about 1 1/2 hrs. it's only been twice now, and all has gone very well. today i left her like this:

and when i returned, she was still sleeping where i left her. what a great little girl!
