nam-i island
teddy and i ventured out of the big metropolis last weekend. my compromise for getting out to the beautiful countryside of korea was taking the scooter. yikes! we traded teddy's, powerful but a little too compact, scooter with his friend for one that is bigger and more comfortable for two. wasn't my favorite mode of transport for the 2 hours it took to get there (and up and down mountains!!).....but it definitely was worth it. man, do i ever miss living in the country! we had planned on taking photos on the way back of the beauty we saw on the way to the island but the camera battery died while on the island. we did manage to get a few though.
this was our first of two fantastic meals. i love korean food in the country! it tastes so much better!
this is me enjoying that deliciousness!!
here we are waiting for the ferry.
getting on the ferry.....
me on the ferry.....
nam-i island is small enough that you can walk around it or rent a bike. this is what some of the pathways looked like.
there were free-range chickens running around.
me.....next to a park---with grass!!! doesn't happen often in korea. (funny enough, when we travelled to taiwan last summer they told us that a certain park there had special grass---korean grass!!! too funny!)
teddy and i in the park.
this was one of the public bathrooms on nam-i island. it was next to a glass art shop. the walls had flattened glass bottles in it.
a close up of the wall.
flowers.....
more of the tree-lined pathways.....
another of the chickens running around.....
this was a mistake shot of teddy helping me set up the camera for a timed shot. the battery died just after this one. you can see the mountains in the background though. it was so nice there.

The trip looked amazing, even though pictures probably don't do it justice.
I am also very interested to experience deliciousness. Even the pointy fish looked tasty!
Glad you are enjoying your travel, wish we were there!
Hi Loree-beth
Your mom gave everyone your blog in her Christmas card. I enjoyed looking at it. I think you had almost as many pictures of Mallory as Wendy on her blog.
Have a Merry Christmas and God bless you.
